Hatha Yoga for Children

Isha Hatha Yoga for Children offers an introduction to yoga to all the little ones, and the possibility to celebrate further their innate sense of joy and oneness with life through simple powerful practices:

  • Upa Yoga: a system of exercise that activates the joints, muscles and energy system, bringing ease to the whole system.
  • AUMkar Meditation: a potent tool to enhance concentration, memory, focus and mind/body coordination
  • Nadi Shuddi: a simple practice involving the breath, that balances and purifies the system
  • Fun games and snacks
  • The class, designed by Sadhguru and conducted by a trained teacher, is open to children age 7-13.

    <p>Please note that attendance on all days is mandatory. This programme is open to ages 7 and above. Please come on a light stomach condition: Finish a meal 2.5 hours prior to the class, or a beverage 1 hour before the class.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the practices taught, there are some contraindications. Children who fall under any of the below categories are not eligible to participate at this time:</p> <ul> <li>If they have had a major open surgery within the last 6 months</li> <li>If they have had a laparoscopic surgery or any severe muscular injury within the last 6 weeks</li> <li>Active hernia</li> </ul> <p>As a general note, always consult and follow your doctor’s advice.     <p><strong>Surya Shakti is designed as a holistic process for physical fitness that enhances memory and focus. </strong></p> <p>Children will be introduced to the practice of AUM chanting, and will learn a breathing technique known as Nadi Shuddhi, to bring balance to the system and relax the mind.
