Isha Hata Yoga Teachers

Isha Hata Yoga teachers have undergone an intensive 6-months training programme at the Isha Yoga Center situated at the foothills of the sacred Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Southern India. Established by Sadhguru as a sacred space for self transformation, the Isha Yoga Center provides an atmosphere conducive for any spiritual seeker. The Center houses many elements that make it a place of tremendous energy and dynamism.

The intensive training process focused on establishing awareness and experiential understanding of the yogic practices in the teachers through a step-by-step rigorous training in methodology and in conducting programs.

The word ‘Asana’ literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as ‘Yogasanas’, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being.

​Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction. Hatha Yoga is offered as a set of 36 powerful postures, or yogasanas, to enable the system to sustain higher dimensions of energy.

This profound science enhances how one thinks, feels, and experiences life. Yogasanas are a way of aligning the inner system and adjusting it to the celestial geometry, thereby becoming in sync with the existence and naturally achieving a chemistry of healthfulness, joyfulness, blissfulness, and above all, balance.

The practice is taught with simple, guided instructions provided by an accredited Isha™ Hatha Yoga teacher, and can be practiced thereafter at home. Regular practise sessions are also offered at the studio.

La base de toute la création, votre corps compris est composée de 5 éléments: l’eau, la terre, le feu, l’air et l’espace. Le processus le plus fondamental de la science du yoga est appelé Bhuta Shuddhi. Bhuta signifie l’élément, Pancha Bhuta, les 5 éléments; Shuddhi signifie purifier.
Aujourd’hui la science est très proche de confirmer ce qui est, dans le système yogique, un fait bien établi que les éléments communiquent entre eux et s’incorporent. Quand vous faites Bhuta Shuddhi, vous essayez d’influencer la façon dont les éléments terre, eau, air, feu fonctionnent en vous. Quand vous prenez l’eau, cette eau communique avec la dimension eau en vous.

Il est important de mettre un peu de votre conscience dans les éléments. Bhuta Shuddhi est un processus unique de sensibilisation de tout votre système aux éléments et de gratitude envers ce qui nous constitue physiquement et mentalement. “Surya” means sun, and “Kriya” means inner energy process. Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus within the system and balances a person’s energies, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This strong foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life.

Traditionally available only to select groups of yogis, Surya Kriya is being offered by Sadhguru as a comprehensive spiritual practice that is ideal for the hectic pace of today’s world.

Surya Kriya includes several aspects that enrich one’s life:

  • Develops mental clarity and focus
  • Remedies weak constitutions
  • Boosts vigor and vitality
  • Balances hormonal levels in the body
  • Prepares one for deeper states of meditation
  • Enhances the elements and benefits of Surya Namaskar (if already practicing it)

Surya Kriya is different from Surya Namaskar in that the original practice or the real practice is Surya Kriya. It is a way of aligning yourself with the sun and it is a much more refined process which needs enormous attention in terms of the geometry of the body. Surya Namaskar is a country cousin of Surya Kriya. There is also another process called Surya Shakti, which is a far-off relative. If you want to use this system as just a physical exercise to build muscle, to become physically strong, you do Surya Shakti. If you want to build muscle, be physically fit, you want to do aerobic exercise where your heart becomes strong and you also want to have a spiritual element in it, you do Surya Namaskar. If you want a strong spiritual process in the physical process that you are doing, then you do Surya Kriya.

The wellbeing of the body and mind can be established by purifying these five elements within the human system. This process also shapes the body into a stepping stone towards one’s ultimate wellbeing.

There is a whole system of yoga called Bhuta Shuddhi, which means “purification of the elements.” The Bhuta Shuddhi processes offered by Isha provide a unique opportunity for everyone to benefit from this esoteric yogic science, which otherwise requires intense sadhana (spiritual practices).
